लोकसभा चुनाव से पहले ही दलबदल की राजनीति शुरू हो चुकी है. इसी कड़ी में आज ओडिशा से बीजू जनता दल (बीजद) के पूर्व सांसद बैजयंत पांडा भारतीय जनता पार्टी में शामिल हो गए हैं. बीजद के पूर्व सांसद बैजयन्त पांडा पिछले साल तब चर्चा में आए थे जब उन्होंने पार्टी में रहते हुए पार्टी प्रमुख ओडिशा के मुख्यमंत्री नवीन पटनायक का विरोध व प्रधानमंत्री की तारीफ़ की थी. इसके बाद उन पर पार्टी को कमज़ोर करने का आरोप लगाया था.
श्री पांडा ने भारतीय जनता पार्टी के दिल्ली स्थित कार्यालय में केंद्रीय मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान की मौजूदगी में पार्टी की सदस्यता ग्रहण की. इस दौरान पार्टी के अन्य बड़े नेता भी मौजूद थे.
बैजयंत पांडा के भाजपा में शामिल होने से लोकसभा चुनाव से पहले ओडिशा में भाजपा को मजबूती मिलने की उम्मीद है. चूंकि ओडिशा में लोकसभा व विधानसभा चुनाव साथ होने के आसार हैं, इसलिए पांडा का पार्टी में जाना भाजपा के लिए अच्छी खबर है.
सनद रहे बीजू जनता दल के पूर्व सांसद बैजयंत पांडा ओडिशा की केंद्रपाड़ा सीट से लोकसभा सांसद रह चुके हैं. इससे पहले पांडा साल 2000 से 2009 तक राज्यसभा के सांसद भी थे. बैजयंत पांडा को 24 जनवरी 2018 को पार्टी विरोधी गतिविधियों के आरोप में निलंबित कर दिया गया था.
इसके बाद मई 2018 में पांडा ने बीजू जनता दल से इस्तीफा दे दिया था.गौरतलब है कि पिछले साल सितंबर में ओडिशा पुलिस ने बैजयन्त पांडा के तीन हेलीकॉप्टर यह कहते हुए सीज किए थे कि पांडा ने नो फ्लाई ज़ोन में हेलीकॉप्टर उड़ाए हैं. जिसके बाद पांडा ने राज्य सरकार पर बदले की राजनीति करने का आरोप लगाया था.
आपको बता दें कि केंद्रपाड़ा ओडिशा की पौराणिक नगरी है. धार्मिक कहानियां और ऐतिहासिक साक्ष्य इस प्रदेश में बड़े पैमाने पर मिलते हैं. मान्यता है कि भगवन कृष्ण के अग्रज बलराम ने यहीं केंद्रसुर का वध करके उसकी उसकी पुत्री से विवाह किया और फिर यहीं बस गए. यहां भगवान बलराम की रथयात्रा को पुरी रथयात्रा जैसी ही ख्याति प्राप्त है.
1998 से इस सीट पर बीजू जनता दल का कब्ज़ा रहा है. अब जबकि बैजयन्त पांडा भाजपा में शामिल हो गए हैं तो ओडिशा की राजनीति में उठापटक निश्चित है.
