‘द हिंदू’ अख़बार में एक फ़िल्म का रिव्यू पढ़ा. वैसे हम फ़िल्म देखने रिव्यू पढ़कर जाते नहीं हैं क्योंकि हम अपनी राय खुद बनाने वालों में से हैं. लेकिन फ़िल्म का नाम देखकर लगा कि एक बार पढ़ा जाए समीक्षा को. फ़िल्म का नाम था ‘उरी – द सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक’. भारतीय सेना जिस चीज़ से भी जुड़ी होती है, उससे खुद को जोड़ लेना स्वाभाविक हैं. आखिर सेना है तभी तो हम हैं. लेकिन रिव्यू की 2 पंक्तियां पढ़कर ही एक बार फिर एहसास हो गया कि हमारे देश में कुछ लोगों के साथ सख्ती करने की सख्त आवश्यकता है. ये शब्द कठोर हैं लेकिन जो हमने पढ़ा, उसके बाद इससे बेहतर दूसरे शब्द सूझे नहीं.

‘ए वर्क ऑफ फ़िक्शन बेस्ड ऑन इंडियन आर्मी सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक..’ किसी भी देशभक्त को विचलित करने के लिए काफी है. समझ में यह नहीं आता है कि ‘लिबरल’ बनने के चक्कर में क्या बुद्धि की भी बलि चढ़ा दी जाती है. देश की सेना का जनरल कह रहा है कि सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक हुई, तो बात वहीं खत्म हो जाती है. ये ‘वर्क ऑफ फिक्शन’ क्या चीज़ है फिर? ये कोई प्यार मोहब्बत की फ़िल्म तो है नहीं. बॉलीवुड के खानों की भी फ़िल्म नहीं है जो ज़्यादातर ‘वर्क ऑफ फिक्शन’ ही होती है. सीधी सच्ची घटना है. पाकिस्तान के ‘शरीफ’ की ‘तशरीफ़’ लाल करने की घटना है. भारतीय गोली से आतंकवादियों को 72 हूरों तक पहुंचाने का पावन कार्य है. जवानों की शहादत का बदला लेने की घटना है. संमीक्षक बने संपादक को कौन सा वर्क ऑफ फिक्शन दिख गया?

‘वर्क ऑफ फिक्शन’ उसे कहते हैं जब देशद्रोह के आरोपी की बिहार से तिहाड़ यात्रा को ‘क्रांतिकारी’ बताया जाता है. काली स्याही के साथ ईमान को भी काला कर ‘फ्रीडम ऑफ एक्सप्रेशन’ के लंबे लेख लिखे जाते हैं. देश की सेना को बलात्कारी कहने वाले कुछ लोगों के लिए ‘सॉफ्ट कार्नर’ वाले लेख लिखे जाते हैं क्योंकि वो कुछ राजनैतिक दलों के आंखों के तारे बन गए हैं. वह भी सिर्फ इसलिए क्योंकि वर्तमान भारतीय राजनीति की एक धुरी बन चुके एक व्यक्ति का तोड़ उनके ‘शीर्ष नेतृत्व’ के पास नहीं है, तो प्यादे खड़े किए जा रहे हैं. ‘वर्क ऑफ फिक्शन’ उसे कहते हैं जब संपादक महोदय की बिरादरी के कुछ लोग एक ‘राजनैतिक परिवार’ को ‘बलिदानी’ बताकर उनके सामने अपने अखबारों की प्रतियां ‘रेड कारपेट’ की तरह बिछा देते हैं.

यदि देश की सेना के शौर्य की तारीफ करने के लिए शब्द नहीं मिलते हैं तो उस विषय पर लिखना छोड़ दीजिए. अपनी पसंद के मुद्दों पर लिखने की लग्जरी तो है ही आपके पास.  वैसे भी आपकी बिरादरी में बहुत से अखबारों ने ‘सत्य’ छोड़कर ‘प्रोपगंडा’ छापने का ट्रेंड अपना ही लिया है. देश की सेना का पाकिस्तान में घुसकर सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक करने की शौर्यगाथा हर बच्चे की ज़बान पर है, लेकिन किसी संपादक महोदय को यदि बात समझ में नहीं आती तो ढूंढिए शेक्सपियर की किताबों में कि सही शब्दों का चुनाव कैसे करते हैं. अंग्रेज़ी में लच्छेदार शब्दों की कमी तो है नहीं. अपनी सुविधा के लिए ‘फ्रीडम ऑफ एक्सप्रेशन’ को ‘फीफडम ऑफ एक्सप्रेसन’ मत बनाइए.

फ़िल्म के दौरान हॉल में ‘जय हिंद’ और ‘वंदे मातरम’ के नारे हर दस मिनट पर बोले जा रहे थे. ‘हाऊज़ द जोश?’ पूछने पर ‘हाई सर!’ कलाकारों के साथ जनता भी बोल रही थी. इतना ‘इनटॉलेरेंस’ सम्पादक महोदय से कहाँ झेला जाता? तो लिख दिया ‘ए वर्क ऑफ फिक्शन’. पाठक गण भी यह फ़िल्म अवश्य देखें. ‘संजू’ का इंटा पकड़ने वाला विकी कौशल जब आर्मी यूनिफार्म में बंदूक पकड़ता है तो लगता है कि जैसे आप उसी फ़िल्म के एक भाग हैं. अजित डोवल बने परेश रावल हमेशा की तरह गर्दा उड़ाए हुए हैं. मोदी जी के साथ राजनाथ सिंह भी दिखेंगे. मनोहर पर्रिकर और अरुण जेटली भी हैं. यह फ़िल्म सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक के सबूत मांगने वालों और उसे ‘फ़र्ज़िकल स्ट्राइक’ कहने वालों को एक तमाचा भी है. इतना सब कुछ आप मिस नहीं कर सकते. कुछ नहीं तो कम से कम ‘हाइपर नेशनलिस्ट’ का रोना रोने वाली वाली आंटी जी को ‘भड़काने’ ही चले जाइये. सपरिवार जाइये और सम्पादक महोदय को बताइये कि उनकी मूर्खता कोई ‘वर्क ऑफ फिक्शन’ नहीं बल्कि एक ‘रियलिटी’ है.
