द्वारिका में दुर्योधन…

पाँच गावों की डिमांड ठुकरा दिए जाने के बाद केशव वापस जा चुके हैं। पितामह, कृपाचार्य, महात्मा विदुर और गुरु द्रोण अनिष्ट की आशंका से ग्रस्त हो चुके हैं।

दिनकर जी ने भी अनाउंस कर दिया है कि; याचना नहीं अब रण होगा।

तय हो चुका है कि युद्ध होकर रहेगा। राजाओं को अपनी अपनी तरफ़ लाने की क़वायद शुरू हो गई है। युवराज दुर्योधन द्वारिका पहुँच चुके है। जिन केशव को उन्होंने बंदी बनाने की धमकी दी थी आज उन्ही केशव से उन्हें मदद चाहिए।

द्वारिका के लिए रवाना होने से पहले केशव पर दबाव बनाने के लिए उन्होंने तार डोट कोम पर किराए के एक बुद्धिजीवी से कालम लिखवा कर साबित करने की कोशिश की थी कि द्यूतक्रीड़ा के लिए उन्हें या उनके मामाश्री को ज़िम्मेदार न माना जाय और ये कि इसके पीछे द्यूतक्रीड़ा के प्रति धर्मराज की उत्सुकता थी। बुद्धिजीवी ने अपने कालम में प्रश्न उठाया कि धर्मराज को कुछ खेलने की ही इच्छा थी तो क्रिकेट खेला होता।

लोकल पत्रकार समूह को ज्ञात हो चुका है कि युवराज वासुदेव कृष्ण से मदद लेने आये हैं। समूह चाहता है कि युवराज एक संवाददाता सम्मेलन करें ताकि उनसे प्रश्न पूछा जा सके। युवराज को पता है कि अगर वे पत्रकारों के सामने गए तो उनकी छीछालेदर होनी तय है। उनके सलाहकार उन्हें पत्रकारों से दूर रहने की सलाह दे चुके हैं। इसलिए युवराज तरह तरह की हरकतें कर द्वारिका वासियों को व्यस्त रख रहे हैं।

उधर हस्तिनापुर में बुद्धिजीवी, पत्रकार, संपादक, कथाकार, कवि वग़ैरह मिलकर युवराज का हौसला बढ़ा रहे हैं। सारे यही बता रहे हैं कि युवराज अगर गुरु द्रोण की पाठशाला में भीम को खीर में ज़हर खिलाकर न मार सके तो कोई बात नहीं, गुरु द्रोण के कहने पर द्रुपद को बंदी बनाकर न ला सके तो कोई बात नहीं, द्रौपदी को वर न सके तो कोई बात नहीं, कड़ी मेहनत करके भी पांडवों को लाक्ष्यागृह में न मार तो कोई बात नहीं, इसबार सफलता उन्ही के क़दम चूमेगी। अंतिम युद्ध वही जीतेंगे।

युवराज सोच रहे हैं कि केशव से भेंट का मुहूर्त सामने आयेगा तो वे क्या करेंगे? कहीं ऐसा तो नहीं कि केशव उनसे पुरानी घटनाओं पर प्रश्न पूछेंगे? कि; मेरी बहन द्रौपदी का वस्त्रहरण करते हुए तुम्हें लज्जा क्यों न आई? कि; लाक्षागृह में पांडवों को जलाकर मारने की योजना बनाते हुए तुम इतने क्रूर कैसे हो गए थे?

युवराज के पुराने पापों से सम्बंधित प्रश्न उनके मन में हलचल मचा रहे थे। फिरअचानक एक और प्रश्न मन में आया। कि; जब केशव के महल में जाऊँगा और वे सोते हुए मिलेंगे तो उनके चरणों की ओर बैठना है या उनके सिरहाने की ओर?

इन्हीं सब प्रश्नों से ग्रस्त युवराज योजनाओं को बना और बिगाड़ रहे थे। आज शाम केशव से भेंट होनेवाली है। युवराज इस भेंट के लिए ख़ुद को तैयार कर रहे हैं। अचानक उनका गुप्तचर एक संदेश लेकर आया। संदेश यह था कि;

“हे युवराज, एक महत्वपूर्ण घटना घट गई है। हस्तिनापुर में आपके पालक-बालकों ने चहचह डॉट कॉम पर आपके हैंडल से एक मीम चहचहा दिया है जिसमें जीजाश्री जयद्रथ को केशव से यह कहते हुए दर्शाया गया है कि; तू तो गाय ही चरा, युद्ध तेरा काम नहीं”

युवराज को समझ नहीं आ रहा कि अब क्या करें? वे अपना दायाँ हाथ माथे पर धरे बैठ गए हैं।
