कालिदास ने कहा है “उत्सवप्रिया: खलु मनुष्या” अर्थात मनुष्य उत्सव प्रेमी होते हैं । त्योहारों का उत्सव उन्हे अपने दुखों और वैमनस्य को भूलने का तथा प्रेम, भाईचारा एवं मित्रता का सेतु बनाने का अवसर देता है । त्योहारों की परम्परा युगों पुरानी है और ये हमे दिनचर्या की उब और एकरसता से निजात दिलाते हैं । ये तनावग्रस्त लोगों में एक प्रकार की ताजगी का संचार करते हैं, तनावमुक्ति का अहसास कराते हैं । इसमे कोई संदेह नहीं कि हम हर्ष व उत्सव से भरे त्योहार पसंद करते हैं । यदि हर्ष और उत्सव त्योहारों का हृदय हैं तो जीवन का दर्शन सिखाने की उनकी क्षमता त्योहारों की आत्मा । विश्व की सभी संस्कृतियों में त्योहारों का उत्सव मनाया जाता है । सांस्कृतिक विरासतों को पीढ़ी दर पीढ़ी संजोना त्योहारों के प्रतिफलों में से एक है ।
त्योहारों की अप्रत्यक्ष आलोचना और उन्हे विकृत करने का प्रचलन समाज के एक हिस्से में जोरो पर है । सोशल मीडिया के आगमन के बाद त्योहारों को विकृत करने और उनका उपहास करने की प्रवृत्ति कई गुना बढ़ी है । दूसरी तरफ सोशल मीडिया ने त्योहारों और देवताओं का विवेकहीन उपहास करने के तार्किक व अतार्किक विरोध को भी आवाज दी है । यह सच है कि हमारें त्योहारों में तमाम ऐसी रुढ़ियां हैं जिन्हे हम बिना किसी तार्किक आकलन के ढ़ोए जा रहे हैं । विवेकहीन, लगभग अर्थहीन और कई बार अश्लील मुम्बईया गाने गोविन्दा, गणपति, नवरात्रि और होली उत्सव के भाव पर ही प्रश्नचिन्ह लगाते प्रतीत होते हैं ।
हम दशहरा या विजयदशमी मनाने वाले हैं जो बुराई पर अच्छाई की जीत का प्रतीक है । इस दिन का महत्व वृहद है । हालांकि मैं इसकी चर्चा रावण पर राम के विजय के रुप में करना चाहूँगा । लोग-बाग अपनी प्रवृति के अनुरुप राम-रावण चुटकुलों का प्रसार आरम्भ कर चुके हैं जो आप तक व्हाट्स-ऐप, ईमेल एवं एसएमएस के माध्यमों से पहुँचने लगी होंगी । इनमें से कुछ चुटकले तो रावण को नायक और राम को खलनायक के रुप में चित्रित करने वाले भी होंगे । तथाकथित नारीवादियों सहित विकृत मानसिकता वाले स्वनामधन्य जन रावण के लिए अपना स्नेह भी प्रदर्शित करते दिखेंगे । हास परिहास की खातिर हमारे बीच से कई लोग झूठ की फेरी लगाकर प्राचीन व्यभिचारी रावण को नायक बनाते हुए पाए जाएंगे ।

अब बताओ असली रावण कौन ?
इस चुटकुले के दूसरे हिस्से से मुझे कोई समस्या नहीं है क्योंकि इसका उद्देश्य चुटीले अंदाज में आत्मावलोकन करने और नारियों के प्रति नजरिया बदलने का हो सकता है । यदि नारियों के प्रति हमारे नजरिये में सकारात्मक बदलाव आता है तो महिला सुरक्षा की दृष्टि से भारत एक बेहतर देश बनेगा । किन्तु समस्या इस फैलाए जाने वाले झूठ से है कि रावण एक स्त्री के लिए समर्पित था । अपने सीमित ज्ञान से मैने रावण की काम विकृत पथभ्रष्टता या व्यभिचार के संदर्भों को खोजने का प्रयास किया है ।
प्राचीन प्राचीन व्यभिचारी रावण
वाल्मीकि रामायण और कई पुराणों जैसे प्रामाणिक स्रोतों में रावण की काम विकृति पर अनेकों उद्धरण हैं जिनका संक्षिप्त टेक्स्ट मैं प्रस्तुत कर रहा हूँ । इसका आरम्भ रावण के सीता के साथ उस वार्तालाप से करते हैं जहाँ वह सीता को विवाह के लिए मनाने का प्रयत्न करता है । सुन्दरकांड में कहा गया है :
स्वधर्मो रक्षसां भीरु सर्वथैव न संशयः।
गमनं वा परस्त्रीणाम् हरणम् सम्प्रमथ्य वा ।। ५-२०-५ [१]
“हे भयभीता ! परस्त्री को प्राप्त करने या इनका बलपूर्वक अपहरण करना असुरों के लिए सर्वथा न्यायसंगत है । इसमे कोई संदेह नहीं है ।”
क्या कोई भी स्वाभिमानी महिला रावण को स्वीकार करेगी ? कहने की जरुरत नहीं, उत्तर स्पष्ट है । आज के कलियुगी संदर्भ में भी यह व्यक्ति नायकत्व का पात्र कतई नहीं है ।
आज कुछ तथाकथित नारीवादी यह भ्रम फैलाते हैं कि रावण सीता से सच्चा प्यार करता था वरना वह अपने प्रिय पुत्र को खोने के बाद सीता की हत्या कर देता ।

किन्तु रावण के मंत्री सुपर्शा ने उसे रोका और उसे अपना क्रोध युद्ध भूमि में प्रकट करने की बात कही ।

हन्तुमिच्छसिवैदेहींक्रोधाद्धर्ममपास्यहि |
“हे कुबेर के अनुज रावण ! अपनी न्यायधर्मिता का त्याग कर क्रोध के आवेग में आप सीता को कैसे मारना चाहते हैं ।“

तस्मिन्नेवसहास्माभीराघवेक्रोधमुत्सृज |
“हे राजन! सौन्दर्य-संपन्ना सीता को देखिए । अपने गुस्से को हमारे साथ युद्ध भूमि में सिर्फ राम पर प्रकट करिए ।“
सीता के अलावा कई अन्य स्त्रियों के वाल्मीकि रामायण व उत्तरकांड में प्रसंग हैं जो रावण की काम विकृत पथभ्रष्टता या व्यभिचार का शिकार हुईं ।
वेदावती
वेदावती कुशध्वज की पुत्री थी । उत्तरकांड में वेदावती के अनन्य सौन्दर्य और तीक्ष्ण मेधा का वर्णण है । उसने बाल्यकाल में ही वैदिक मंत्रोच्चार आरम्भ कर दिया था । काम-वासना के आवेग में रावण ने वेदावती को विवाह का प्रस्ताव दिया और ठुकराए जाने पर उसका बलात्कार कर दिया । वेदावती यह काम विकृत अतिक्रमण सह न सकी और उसने आत्मदाह कर लिया । किन्तु उसने रावण को श्राप दिया कि वही उसके मृत्यु का कारण बनेगी । कहते हैं कि वेदावती का ही सीता के रुप में पुर्नजन्म हुआ ।
पुन्जिस्थला
वाल्मीकि रामायण के युद्धकांड में एक राक्षस महापर्सवा रावण को सीता का बलात्कार करने को उकसाता है तो रावण कहता है :
महापार्श्व निबोध त्वम् रहस्यम् किंचिदात्मनः |
चिरवृत्तम् तदाख्यास्ये यदवाप्तम् पुरा मया || ६-१३-१०
‘हे महापर्सवा ! मेरा एक छोटा रहस्य जानते हो । मैं तुम्हे एक घटना बताउंगा जो बहुत पहले घटी थी ।”
पितामहस्य भवनम् गच्चन्तीम् पुञ्जिकस्थलाम् |
चञ्चूर्यमाणामद्राक्षमाकाशेऽग्निशिखामिव || ६-१३-११
“एक बार मैने ज्वाला की तरह दमकती स्वर्गिक परी पुन्जिस्थला को देखा जो आकाश में स्वयं को छिपाते हुए ब्रह्मा निवास की ओर बढ़ रही थी ।”
सा प्रसह्य मया भुक्ता कृता विवसना ततः |
स्वयम्भूभवनम् प्राप्ता लोलिता नलिनी यथा || ६-१३-१२
“मैने उसे निर्वस्त्र करके उसके साथ बलात गमन किया । तत्पश्चात वह सिलवटदार कमल की तरह दिखती हुई ब्रह्मा निवास पहुँची ।”
तच्च तस्य तदा मन्ये ज्ञातमासीन्महात्मनः |
अथ सम्कुपितो वेधा मामिदम् वाक्यमब्रवी || ६-१३-१३
“मुझे लगता है कि ब्रह्मा को यह बात बतायी गयी और तब कुपित ब्रह्मा मुझसे बोले ”
अद्यप्रभृति यामन्याम् बलान्नारीम् गमिष्यसि |
तदा ते शतधा मुर्धा फलिष्यति न संशयः || ६-१३-१४
“आज के बाद यदि किसी स्त्री के साथ तुमने बलात्कार किया तो तुम्हारा सर कटकर सौ टुकड़ों में बँट जाएगा ।”
इत्यहम् तस्य शापस्य भीतः प्रसभमेव ताम् |
नारोहये बलात्सीताम् वैदेहीम् शय्ने शुभे || ६-१३-१५
“ब्रह्मा के उसी श्राप से भयभीत होकर विदेह पुत्री सीता को मैं बलात अपने सुन्दर सेज पर नहीं ले जाता हूँ ।”
इस बलात्कारी व अनाचारी रावण द्वारा सीता का बलात्कार न करने का मुख्य कारण ब्रह्मा का श्राप ही था । यहाँ ब्रह्मा के श्राप की न्यायसंगतता पर चर्चा श्रेयस्कर नहीं होगा क्योंकि यह चर्चा के असली मुद्दे से भटकाव होगा ।
रंभा
कुबेर पुत्र नल कुबेर की पत्नी रंभा भी एक अप्सरा थी जिसके साथ भी रावण ने बलात्कार किया । कुबेर और रावण सौतेले भाई थे । रंभा रावण के समक्ष बहु होने का वास्ता देकर गिड़गिड़ाती रही किन्तु इसके.वावजूद अपनी काम विकृति की अधीनता में रावण ने उसका बलात्कार किया ।
ज्योतिर्लिंग वैद्यनाथ
भगवान शिव से आशीर्वाद के रुप में रावण को ज्योतिर्लिंग मिला जिसे वह लंका ले जाना चाहता था । किन्तु शिव की यह शर्त थी कि यदि ज्योतिर्लिंग को धरती पर रख दिया गया तो ब्रह्माण्ड की कोई शक्ति उसे वहाँ से हटा नहीं सकती । रावण की यात्रा के दौरान उसे लघुशंका की जरुरत हुई । गड़़ेड़िए के वेष में भगवान गणेश रावण की मदद करने आए और रावण से बोले “मैं ज्योतिर्लिंग को हाथ में थामकर खड़ा रहूँगा किन्तु जब मेरे हाथ इसका भार उठाते हुए असहज होने लगेंगे तो मैं तुम्हे तीन बार आवाज लगाउंगा और तुम्हारे नहीं आने पर ज्योतिर्लिंग धरती पर रख दूँगा ।” रावण सहमत हुआ और लघुशंका के लिए गया । नदी के किनारे उसने एक सुन्दर भील स्त्री देखी और आसक्त होकर उसके पीछे चल पड़ा । जब रावण उस भील स्त्री के साथ बलात काम-क्रीड़ा में लगा था, तभी गणेश ने तीन बार आवाज लगायी और ज्योतिर्लिंग धरती पर रख दिया । इस तरह ज्योतिर्लिंग वैद्यनाथ की स्थापना हुई ।
सारांश
वाल्मीकि रामायण और पुराणों में रावण के व्यभिचारी और बलात्कारी होने के और भी प्रमाण/ संदर्भ हैं । महिलाओं की गरिमा पर होने वाला हर प्रहार समाप्त किया जाना चाहिए । किन्तु नारीवादिता की आड़़ में या हास परिहास के लिए दशहरा शुभकामनाओं में रावण को नायक बनाना हमारे लिए अवांछित है । ऐसा करना हमारे अज्ञान व मूर्खता का परिचायक है ।
हमारे पूर्वजों द्वारा बनाये गये त्योहार हमारे विरासती उत्सवों का एक ऐसा माध्यम हैं जिनको पीढ़ी दर पीढ़ी मूल और शुद्ध रुप से आगे बढ़ाना हमारा कर्तव्य है तथा इसके मूल भाव और हर्षोत्साह को अक्षुण्ण रखना हमारी जिम्मेदारी ।
